Big Excursions AROUND NICE

Lac de Sainte Croix and gorges du Verdon by car
Driving from Nice is 150 km, 2h30, via Grasse, up the Route Napoleon (N85) to Castellane and along the gorges du Verdon
To go to the lac de Sainte Croix, you can go to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, le Pallud, Saintes Croix sur Verdon, etc... there are several villages around the lake ! it is wunderful

Moustiers to Castellane  is one hour, but allow extra time for sightseeing along the way. Castellane to Grasse is an hour, but traffic can be slower in the middle of the summer.

If you have no cars, you can take the bus untill Castellane or or the train chemins de fer de Provence untill Saint André des Alpes and then take the bus Palud/Verdon (where you have the lac de Saintes Croix) or train untill Barrême and find a taxi to drive you to Rougon, where you have the most beautiful landscapes

Saint Tropez

During the winter, there is no problem going by car (about 2 hours) but during the sommer, there are so many trafic jams that it is better to find another solution

1) Public transport (about 60€/pers with return), this takes about 2h45
by the train or  by the bus 3003 from the Airport  untill Saint Raphael  and then with the boat (  all informations here)

2) during the sommer (31/5 to 5/10) , you can make excursions from Nice to Saint Tropez with the company trans-cote-azur this costs (with return) 63€/adult and 48€ for children (free under 4 year old), it starts at 9 am and you are back at 7 pm . In Saint Tropez, you stay from 11h30 to 16h30 which is enough to visit everything.

3) more expensive , but you decide  about the hours :  Taxi boat from Nice to Saint Tropez , 2h30, can be cancelled if bad meteo. It  costs 650 € (and back the same again)  for max 9 persons (10 or 11 if 2 children), which means that for a group of 10 this will costs 65€/ person (only one way)  . You have to book 3 days before and you will receive a confirmation : to book you can ask Nathalie or call direct 0612402805
